Bespoke metal planters in Greenwich

Greenwich Peninsula is one of the most exposed pieces of residential development in London: open river on three sides, very little shelter, and amenity terraces on almost every new block. Planters there need to be engineered for wind before they are styled, and specified in materials that survive salt-laden air off the Thames.

Bespoke metal planters of the kind we fabricate and install in Greenwich — Tall slim matte black planters flanking a modern glass office entrance with pampas grass.

Inland, Blackheath and Charlton bring conservation-area gardens and a very different brief — quieter finishes, smaller runs, and metalwork that sits comfortably against Georgian and Victorian brick.

Built for Greenwich

01

Peninsula wind

Exposed river frontage means uplift on lightweight planters and constant movement on tall planting. We ballast, restrain and increase gauge accordingly.

02

Salt-air durability

Marine-specification PPC over aluminium and 316 stainless fixings are standard on any scheme within sight of the river.

03

Woolwich regeneration

The Royal Arsenal and Woolwich town centre schemes bring large courtyard and podium packages, delivered in phases alongside other trades.

Delivery & access

Peninsula and Woolwich sites are contractor-managed with crane and hoist windows we book in advance. Blackheath and Charlton residential work is typically hand-carried through the property in sections.

Planning & context

The Peninsula's design codes often set out finish palettes and planting depths for public and shared areas. We work to the code, and supply the documentation needed to demonstrate compliance.

Questions

Greenwich FAQs

How do you stop planters lifting on an exposed river terrace?
A combination of ballast, mechanical restraint to the deck sub-structure and increased shell gauge. The strategy is set at shop drawing stage against the exposure of the specific elevation.
Will powder coating survive next to the Thames?
Marine-specification PPC will. Standard architectural PPC is not the right choice within a few hundred metres of open salt-influenced water.
Can you plant as well as install?
We install the metalwork and coordinate closely with landscape contractors who fill and plant. On many schemes we work alongside the same planting teams project after project.
